NyRock Cavity Slab 032 is suitable for builders, contractors, and serious DIY installers carrying out new build or renovation work where cavity wall insulation is required. It is ideal for projects where thermal performance and ease of installation are priorities, and where friction fitting without extensive cutting is preferred.

Slab dimensions and coverage

Each slab measures 100mm thick by 455mm wide by 1200mm long. One pack contains four slabs, totalling 2.18 square metres of wall coverage. The 100mm thickness is suitable for standard cavity widths. Check your cavity width before ordering to ensure compatibility with your wall construction.

Installation and fixing

The slabs are designed for friction fitting, meaning they are held in place by compression within the cavity without requiring additional fixings or adhesives. The lightweight construction and precise dimensions allow the slabs to fit snugly against blockwork with minimal gaps. This friction fit method reduces installation time and the need for cutting individual slabs to size.

Pre-installation checks

Before installing, measure your cavity width to confirm it accommodates the 100mm slab thickness. Ensure the cavity is clear of debris, mortar droppings, and obstructions that could prevent proper seating. Check that cavity ties or wall ties are in place and will not interfere with slab insertion. Verify that damp proof courses and membranes are correctly installed. The product carries Euroclass A1 fire rating, meeting current building regulations for reaction to fire performance.
