S/K-90 2700MM KEYSTONE CAVITY WALL LINTEL

What this lintel is for

The S/K-90 is a cavity wall lintel engineered to carry the weight of masonry above openings in cavity wall construction. The 2700mm length makes it suitable for larger openings or where extended span is required. It is commonly used in residential and commercial cavity wall projects to support brickwork, blockwork, or stone above windows, doors, and other structural openings.

  • Designed for cavity wall construction
  • Supports masonry loads above openings
  • 2700mm length for substantial spans
  • Galvanised steel for weather resistance

Compatibility and sizing

The S/K-90 designation indicates this is a Keystone lintel with a 90mm depth, which is the standard cavity lintel profile. The 2700mm length is fixed and cannot be cut or adjusted on site. You must measure your opening width accurately and select the correct lintel length before ordering. If your opening is smaller than 2700mm, you will need a shorter lintel; if larger, you will need a longer model. Always allow for adequate bearing length at each end (typically 150mm minimum on each side of the opening).

  • Fixed 2700mm length — cannot be trimmed
  • 90mm depth profile for standard cavity walls
  • Measure opening width plus bearing allowance before ordering
  • Confirm lintel length matches your opening requirements

Pre-installation checks

Before fixing, inspect the lintel for any damage to the galvanised coating, dents, or deformation that could affect its structural performance. Check that the cavity width and wall construction match the lintel profile. Ensure the supporting masonry or structural elements at each end are sound and capable of bearing the lintel load. Verify that the opening dimensions and bearing surfaces are level and properly prepared. Have all necessary fixings and mortar ready before installation begins.

  • Inspect galvanised coating for damage
  • Check cavity width matches lintel profile
  • Confirm bearing surfaces are level and sound
  • Verify opening dimensions and prepare bearing points

Installation and support

The lintel must be bedded on a full mortar joint at both bearing ends, with a minimum bearing length of 150mm on each side of the opening. The lintel should be level and properly supported throughout its length to prevent sagging or deflection. Once positioned, ensure mortar is worked fully under and around the lintel to create a solid, continuous bearing. Allow adequate curing time for mortar before loading the lintel with masonry above. Follow relevant building regulations and structural design guidance for your specific project.

  • Bed on full mortar joint at both ends
  • Minimum 150mm bearing on each side
  • Keep level during installation
  • Fill all voids with mortar before loading
