Siniat Standard Plasterboard 2400mm x 1200mm x 15mm SE

What this product is for

This standard plasterboard is ideal for creating internal stud partition walls, lining existing masonry walls, and installing suspended ceilings. The square edge profile means joints will require taping and jointing compound, or the entire surface can be skimmed with plaster for a seamless finish. It is not suitable for external use or areas subject to high moisture.

  • Internal partitions and stud wall linings
  • Ceiling applications on timber or metal joists
  • Renovation and refurbishment projects
  • Suitable for tape and jointing or skimming finishes

Sizing and pack contents

Each sheet measures 2400mm length by 1200mm width and 15mm thickness. The square edge (SE) design means the long edges are cut square rather than tapered, which is standard for this product type. Sheets are typically supplied individually or in packs depending on order quantity. Check your order confirmation for the exact number of sheets included.

  • Single sheet dimensions: 2400mm x 1200mm x 15mm
  • Square edge profile for tape and jointing
  • Covers approximately 2.88 square metres per sheet
  • Weight approximately 25kg per sheet

Preparation and fixing

Before installation, ensure your supporting structure (timber studs, joists or metal framing) is level, plumb and properly spaced at 400mm or 600mm centres depending on the application. Store plasterboard flat and dry on site, protected from weather and moisture. Handle sheets carefully to avoid damage to edges and corners. Fix using galvanised plasterboard nails or drywall screws at 150mm intervals around edges and 200mm across intermediate supports.

  • Support structure must be level and properly spaced
  • Store flat and protected from moisture
  • Use galvanised fixings to prevent staining
  • Stagger joints between sheets for strength and appearance
  • Allow adequate ventilation during and after installation

Finishing options

Square edge boards require finishing treatment. For a professional appearance, apply jointing tape and compound to all joints, then sand smooth before decoration. Alternatively, skim the entire surface with finish plaster for a seamless result. Both methods require skill and experience; allow adequate drying time between coats as per compound or plaster manufacturer's instructions.

  • Tape and joint all square edge joints with compound
  • Or apply a full plaster skim coat for seamless finish
  • Sand between coats for smooth surface
  • Ensure proper ventilation during drying
