KEYSTONE S/K-110 - 1200mm Standard Load Cavity Lintel
What this lintel is for
The KEYSTONE S/K-110 is engineered for standard load applications in cavity wall construction. It supports masonry above window and door openings, bridging the cavity whilst carrying the weight of brickwork, blockwork, and roof loads above. It is commonly used in new build housing and renovation projects where cavity walls are the primary construction method.
- Suitable for openings up to 1200mm wide
- Standard load rating of 16 kN UDL
- Designed for domestic and light commercial buildings
- Supports both outer and inner leaves of cavity walls
Sizing and compatibility
This lintel is 1200mm long and has a height of 100mm. The outer leaf bearing is 102mm and the inner leaf bearing is 100mm, which accommodates standard 100mm blockwork on the inner leaf and 102.5mm brickwork on the outer leaf. Ensure your opening width does not exceed 1200mm and that your cavity width and leaf thicknesses match these specifications before ordering.
- Length: 1200mm
- Overall height: 100mm
- Outer leaf: 102mm
- Inner leaf: 100mm
- Maximum opening width: 1200mm
Installation and preparation
Before installation, check that the supporting walls are plumb and level, and that adequate bearing is available on both sides of the cavity. The lintel must be fully supported on both the inner and outer leaves with minimum bearing lengths as specified. Ensure the cavity is clear of debris and mortar droppings that could prevent proper seating. The lintel should be bedded in mortar on both leaves and levelled before the masonry above is built.
- Verify opening width does not exceed 1200mm
- Check supporting walls are level and plumb
- Clear cavity of debris and mortar droppings
- Bed lintel fully in mortar on both leaves
- Ensure lintel is level before building above
Load rating and limitations
The KEYSTONE S/K-110 has a uniform distributed load capacity of 16 kN, which is suitable for standard residential construction. Do not use this lintel for applications with heavy concentrated loads, such as steel beams or substantial point loads. If your project involves loads exceeding the 16 kN rating, consult the manufacturer or specify a heavier duty lintel.
- UDL capacity: 16 kN
- Standard load lintel for domestic use
- Not suitable for heavy concentrated loads
- Verify load requirements before installation
