S/K1501350 KEYSTONE S/K-150 X 1350mm Standard Cavity Wall Lintel
What this lintel is for
This is a standard cavity wall lintel engineered to support masonry above openings in cavity wall construction. The 150mm dimension refers to the cavity width it spans, making it ideal for modern cavity wall builds. The 1350mm length accommodates openings up to approximately 1300mm wide, with additional length for bearing on each side of the opening.
- Supports masonry above window and door openings
- Designed for 150mm cavity walls
- Suitable for new build and renovation work
- Standard-duty load rating for typical domestic applications
Compatibility and sizing
Before ordering, measure your opening width and confirm your cavity wall thickness is 150mm. The 1350mm length includes bearing length on both sides of the opening, so it will typically suit openings up to 1300mm wide. Always check that your opening width and wall construction match this lintel specification. If your cavity is a different width or your opening significantly larger, you will need a different lintel size.
- Cavity width: 150mm
- Total lintel length: 1350mm
- Suitable opening width: up to approximately 1300mm
- Confirm cavity width before purchase
Installation and preparation
Lintels must be installed level and bedded firmly on mortar on both sides of the opening. Ensure adequate bearing length (typically 150mm minimum on each side) on sound masonry. The lintel should be positioned at the correct height relative to your opening and supported during installation until the masonry above has been built and cured. Do not rely on the lintel alone to support weight during construction; temporary propping may be required.
- Install level with adequate mortar bed on both sides
- Ensure minimum 150mm bearing on each side of opening
- Support during construction until masonry above is set
- Check opening is square and true before installation
Pre-installation checks
Inspect the lintel for any damage or corrosion before fixing. Confirm the opening dimensions match the lintel length and that your cavity wall construction is sound. Check that the opening is square and that the bearing surfaces are clean and level. Verify that the lintel is the correct specification for your wall type and loading conditions.
- Inspect for damage or corrosion
- Confirm opening width and cavity thickness
- Check bearing surfaces are clean and level
- Verify this is the correct lintel type for your application
