What this product is and who needs it
Siniat Fire Plasterboard is a fire-resistant gypsum plasterboard engineered to meet EN 520 Type DF classification. It is specified for non-loadbearing stud partition systems, wall linings and suspended ceiling applications where fire resistance is mandatory. Building regulations in the UK increasingly require fire-resistant materials in certain building types and locations. This product is essential for architects, contractors and serious DIY builders working on projects subject to fire safety standards, including multi-storey residential buildings, commercial spaces and institutional buildings.
Compatibility and system requirements
This board is designed for use with metal stud framing systems in non-loadbearing applications. A single 15mm layer achieves 60 minutes fire resistance when properly installed on metal studs. Ensure your framing system is compatible with plasterboard fixing and that studs are spaced and installed according to the system design. The board is not suitable for loadbearing applications. Confirm with your structural engineer or system designer that this product meets the fire rating requirement for your specific application.

Pack contents and sizing
Each pack contains 50 sheets of Siniat Fire Plasterboard. Individual board dimensions are 2400mm length x 1200mm width x 15mm thickness. Calculate your coverage by dividing your total wall or ceiling area by 2.88 square metres per board (2400 x 1200mm = 2.88m²). Order additional packs as needed, allowing for waste and cuts around openings and edges.

Pre-installation checks and fixing preparation
Before installation, inspect all boards for damage in transit and store flat in a dry environment. Ensure your metal stud framework is plumb, level and correctly spaced according to the partition system specification. Check that fixings (typically drywall screws for plasterboard) are appropriate for both the board thickness and stud gauge. Verify that your installation method will maintain the fire rating—improper fixing or gaps can compromise fire performance. Have a qualified installer or refer to Siniat's technical guidance if you are unfamiliar with fire-rated partition installation.
