PREMDOR 4 PANEL SMOOTH FD30 FIRESHIELD 762MM X 1981MM X 44MM PEFC COMPLIANT
What this door is and who it is for
This is an FD30 fire-rated door leaf suitable for internal applications in buildings where 30-minute fire resistance is required by building regulations. It is ideal for care homes, hospitals, offices, schools, and multi-residential properties. The smooth moulded panel design provides a quality aesthetic at a competitive price point, making it suitable for both new build and refurbishment projects where fire safety and appearance matter equally.
Size, compatibility and pack contents
The door measures 762mm wide (single leaf width) by 1981mm tall by 44mm thick. This is a standard UK internal door size. You will receive one door leaf only; you must source a compatible FD30-rated frame, hinges, and hardware separately. Confirm your opening dimensions before ordering, as this door is not adjustable for width or height. The white base coat is factory applied, but the door is supplied unfinished and ready for on-site painting or staining.
- Width: 762mm (standard single leaf)
- Height: 1981mm (standard UK height)
- Thickness: 44mm (fire-rated construction)
- Finish: White base coat, unfinished
- Requires separate FD30-rated frame and hardware
Finishing and on-site preparation
The door arrives with a smooth white base coat that provides an excellent foundation for painting or staining. Before installation, inspect the door for any transit damage and allow it to acclimatise to the building environment for 48 hours. The smooth faces are designed to accept high-quality paint finishes without additional preparation. Apply standard interior paint or wood stain according to the manufacturer's instructions. Ensure all edges and the base coat are fully sealed to protect the door from moisture and maintain fire performance.
Pre-installation checks
Verify that your frame opening is exactly 762mm wide and 1981mm tall, with tolerance of no more than 5mm. Confirm that your frame, hinges, and door hardware are all certified to FD30 standard; mixing non-rated components will invalidate fire performance. Check that the door leaf is not warped or damaged before hanging. Ensure the building environment is at normal temperature and humidity before and after installation to prevent movement. This door must be hung by a competent tradesperson familiar with fire-rated door installation to maintain certification.
