How and where to use guide
White Primed Flush FD30 Fire Door 1981mm x 762mm x 44mm
Typical applications
This FD30 fire door is suitable for internal compartmentation and escape route protection in commercial and residential buildings. Common applications include separating communal areas, protecting stairwells, and creating fire-rated compartments within offices, care homes, and multi-storey residential properties. The 30-minute fire resistance rating meets Building Regulations requirements for many internal fire safety scenarios. Always verify local Building Regulations and fire safety standards for your specific application, as requirements vary by building type and use.
- Escape route protection and compartmentation
- Communal areas and circulation spaces
- Stairwell and corridor separation
- Office and commercial partitioning
Installation and preparation
The door is supplied white primed and ready to hang into a standard internal door frame. Check that the frame opening is square, level, and plumb before installation. The door measures 1981mm height x 762mm width x 44mm thickness and should fit standard UK door frames. Ensure the frame is properly fixed and braced. Install the door using three hinges minimum, positioned at 150mm from top and bottom, with the third hinge centred. Use fire-rated hardware and accessories where required by Building Regulations. Do not cut or modify the door after delivery, as this may compromise its fire rating.
- Check frame is square, level, and plumb before hanging
- Use minimum three hinges, fire-rated if required
- Do not cut or modify the door after delivery
- Install fire-rated hardware and seals as per Building Regulations
Decoration and finishing
The door arrives white primed, providing a clean base for final decoration. You may paint over the primer with standard interior paint or apply wood stain if desired. Ensure all surfaces, including edges, are sealed to protect the engineered core from moisture ingress. Allow adequate drying time between primer and topcoat. Avoid excessive moisture exposure during storage and on-site, as the solid engineered core can be affected by prolonged dampness. Store the door flat or upright in a dry, well-ventilated area until installation.

- Seal all surfaces, including edges and top
- Allow adequate drying time between coats
- Store flat or upright in dry conditions
Maintenance and limitations
Once installed and decorated, maintain the door by keeping it clean and dry. The white primed finish and engineered core are not designed for external use or high-moisture environments such as kitchens or bathrooms without additional protection. Do not expose the door to direct water spray or prolonged dampness. The 30-minute fire resistance rating applies only when the door is properly installed with fire-rated hardware, seals, and frame components as specified in Building Regulations. Regular inspection of hinges, locks, and seals is recommended to ensure continued performance. If the door is damaged, do not attempt repair; contact the supplier for guidance.
- Keep door clean and dry; not suitable for wet areas
- Fire rating depends on correct installation of all components
- Inspect hinges, locks, and seals regularly
- Do not attempt repairs; contact supplier if damaged
