A400302 Ulti-mate II Professional Woodscrew PoziSquare Double Csk Z&Y - (8g) 4mm X 30mm - 200

Who this screw is for and typical uses

This is a professional-grade woodscrew for carpenters, joiners, and experienced DIY users installing hinges, latches, brackets, and general timber fixings. The absence of ribs on smaller sizes makes it particularly suitable for use with hardware and fittings where a clean finish is required. It is ideal for softwood framing, carcassing, and assembly work where driving stability and reduced splitting are priorities.

Key features and compatibility

  • PoziSquare recess accepts both Pozidriv (PZ) and Phillips (PH) driver bits, reducing the need for multiple bit types on site
  • State of the art anti-camout recess ensures stick-fit and stable driving, minimising bit slip and screw damage
  • Quick start point allows rapid starting with minimum force, speeding up installation
  • Reinforced double angle head self-countersinks into timber and resists breakage under load
  • Slotted shank reduces wood splitting, particularly important in dense or dry timber
  • Zinc yellow plating provides corrosion resistance for interior and sheltered external applications
  • No ribs on this size make it ideal for hinge and fitting installation where a flush finish is needed

Sizing and pack contents

This pack contains 200 screws, each 8g gauge (4mm diameter) and 30mm in length. This size is suitable for general carpentry in softwoods and engineered boards, and for securing lightweight hardware. For heavier fixings or hardwoods, consider a larger gauge or length. Check your application requires a countersunk head; if a pan head or raised head is needed, select an alternative product.

Pre-installation checks and preparation

  • Confirm the timber type and density; these screws perform best in softwoods and engineered timber
  • Check that a countersunk recess is appropriate for your application and finish
  • Use a Pozidriv or Phillips driver bit in good condition to avoid camout and bit wear
  • For dense or dry timber, consider a pilot hole to reduce splitting risk, even with the slotted shank
  • Ensure the screw length allows full penetration into the substrate without breaking through the far face
  • Store in a dry environment to preserve the zinc yellow plating
