How and where to use guide
A400302 Ulti-mate II Professional Woodscrew PoziSquare Double Csk Z&Y - (8g) 4mm X 30mm - 200
Typical applications
Use these screws for general woodworking, cabinet making, door hanging, and fitting hardware to timber frames and joinery. The 30mm length suits fastening thin timber components, trim, and fittings to solid wood substrates. The self-countersinking double angle head means the screw will sit flush without requiring pre-countersinking in most softwoods. The absence of ribs on this smaller size makes them ideal for use with hinges, handles, and other fittings where a clean appearance matters.
- Door and window frame assembly
- Hinge and hardware installation
- Cabinet and joinery work
- Fastening trim and cladding to timber
- General carpentry and repairs
Driving and installation
The pozisquare recess accepts both PH (Phillips) and PZ (Pozidriv) drivers, offering flexibility on site. The state-of-the-art anti-camout recess provides stick-fit and stable driving, reducing the risk of bit slip and screw damage. The quick start point allows rapid starting with minimum force, reducing fatigue during repetitive work. Drive the screw perpendicular to the timber surface using steady, controlled pressure. The slotted shank reduces wood splitting, particularly important in dense softwoods or near timber edges.
- Use PH or PZ driver bit matched to recess size
- Apply steady downward pressure to prevent camout
- Drive perpendicular to timber surface
- Allow the quick start point to establish grip before full driving force
- Stop when head is flush with timber surface
Limitations and site considerations
These screws are designed for interior and protected external applications only; the zinc yellow plating is not suitable for coastal or highly corrosive environments. Do not use in hardwoods without pilot drilling, as the 4mm diameter may cause splitting. Pre-drilling is recommended near timber edges or in dense material. The 30mm length limits use to fastening relatively thin components; thicker assemblies require longer screws. Do not over-tighten, as the reinforced head is resistant to breakage but excessive force may strip the timber or damage the recess.
- Pre-drill in hardwoods and near timber edges
- Not suitable for coastal or highly corrosive environments
- Zinc yellow plating is for interior and protected use only
- Avoid over-tightening to prevent timber damage
Storage and handling
Store screws in a dry environment to maintain the zinc yellow plating. Keep in original packaging or sealed containers to prevent moisture exposure and corrosion. On site, protect from wet conditions and store away from salt spray or chemical contamination. The screws are supplied in a pack of 200, suitable for medium-scale projects and site stock.
- Store in dry conditions away from moisture
- Keep packaging sealed until use
- Protect from salt spray and chemical exposure
- Rotate stock to use older batches first
