Typical applications
These 4mm x 70mm screws are suited to general woodworking, joinery, and construction tasks where a countersunk finish is required. Use them for fixing timber components, assembling man-made board structures, and securing sheet materials to timber or metal frames. The PoziSquare recess provides excellent grip and reduces cam-out risk compared to standard Pozidriv.

Installation and driving
The sharp point allows the screw to bite immediately without pre-drilling in most softwoods and man-made boards, saving time and battery charge. The included Stick-Fit driver bit engages with the patented PSD recess, holding the screw firmly whilst allowing one-handed operation. Ensure the bit is fully seated in the recess before driving to prevent slipping and damage to the screw head.

Material compatibility and limitations
These screws perform well in softwoods, hardwoods, and engineered boards. They are also suitable for fixing into sheet metal. However, pre-drilling is recommended in hardwoods, dense timbers, and near edges to prevent splitting. The 70mm length is suitable for fixing materials up to approximately 50mm thickness when fastening into solid timber or board substrates.

On-site tips and storage
Store screws in a dry environment to prevent corrosion. The zinc and yellow passivation finish provides good corrosion resistance for interior and protected exterior applications. Keep the Stick-Fit driver bit in good condition and replace if the tip becomes worn or damaged, as this will reduce holding power and increase the risk of slipping. The 600-tub quantity is ideal for bulk projects and reduces the need for frequent reordering on site.
