Suitable applications and wall types
These boards are engineered for full fill cavity wall insulation in new build and renovation projects. They work equally well in timber-framed construction (where they sit within the cavity between inner and outer leaf) and masonry cavity walls (brick, block, or stone). The 90mm thickness is designed to fit standard cavity widths without requiring additional packing or compression. Use these boards during the wall build process, installing them as the cavity is constructed rather than as a retrofit solution.

Installation and on-site handling
Install boards as the wall is built, placing them horizontally or vertically within the cavity depending on your wall build sequence and preference. The tongue and groove edges must be engaged fully to create continuous insulation coverage and maintain the thermal performance. Ensure boards are pushed firmly into position so that the grooved edge of one board locks with the tongue of the adjacent board. The 1200 × 460mm board size is designed to minimise cutting and waste; plan your layout to take advantage of full board widths where possible. Handle boards carefully on site to avoid damage to the foam core or edge profiles, as damaged edges will compromise joint integrity.

Thermal performance and limitations
The rigid PIR foam core delivers high thermal resistance suitable for meeting current Building Regulations insulation requirements in cavity wall construction. The tongue and groove profile is critical to performance—gaps between boards will create thermal bridges and reduce overall U-value. These boards are designed for full fill cavity installation only; they are not suitable for partial fill or blown-in applications. Performance depends on correct installation with no voids, gaps, or compression of the foam core.

Storage and site management
Store boards flat and dry on site, protected from weather, direct sunlight, and mechanical damage. Keep boards in their original packaging where possible until installation to prevent moisture absorption and edge damage. Stack boards carefully to avoid crushing the foam core or damaging the tongue and groove edges. Inspect boards before installation for any damage sustained during delivery or storage; damaged boards should not be installed as they will not achieve proper joint sealing.
